Andy has been busy creating a film about his grandfathers who both fought in World War II. Wars Apart is The story of two men from Hucknall, Nottinghamshire who lived through World War II in ways that could not have been more different. This is their story of sacrifice, survival, and family — a reminder of how ordinary men were swept into extraordinary times.

And then there's the follow up short video showing some of the locations now and some of the coincidences after the war.

This project has been Andy's life for six months which started as short tribute for V.E. day last May. After becoming fascinated by two men from the same town taken from their normal lives with their wives and young children and thrust into war, but very different wars, the short video has turned into a 50 minute film.
This isn’t a celebrity war story — it’s about two men from an ordinary Nottingham street. They weren’t born heroes, they became them by enduring what they never asked for. Andy wanted to make sure their names — not just the dates — survive.
